What to Unpack First
Moving into a new home is an exciting time. The prospect of new opportunity and opening a new chapter in your life simply cannot compare to anything else. But, once the movers have left and you’re at your new home, where do you start? Unpacking can be overwhelming to say the least.
To make the ordeal of unpacking your new home easier to deal with, the one thing to remember is that you should unpack only the essentials first. Navigating around all the boxes will always be easier once you organize everything. So, be sure to place all the boxes in the rooms in which they belong.
Unpacking in order of priority is essential. The first two rooms that you should unpack are the bedroom and the kitchen. If you have moving helpers, perhaps these rooms can be unpacked simultaneously to make moving in the first day much smoother.
Why unpack the kitchen early on? When you move, no one wants to work without any food in their stomachs. Make sure that the refrigerator and stove work so that you can have access to meals and snacks throughout the day.
The bedroom should also be one of the first rooms unpacked simply because moving is hard work. Everyone will end up being tired and cranky, so having a place to kick back and relax after a hard day’s work will be much appreciated. Ice Cold refreshments of choice are a given.
