Tips for moving your home
Once you have written up a detailed checklist, taken an inventory of all of your possessions and basically got every single little detail of your impending move all planned out, what else is there left for you to do? One good tip to keep in mind in the midst of a move is to stay organized. It cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to stay organized during relocation. While there is no amount of planning that means you will be fully prepared if any unexpected issues arise on moving day, you can make sure that you have prepared for a very comfortable move by organizing and packing your possessions well in advance.
Taking an inventory of all of your belongings and making sure that you have booked a reputable moving company a good two weeks in advance of moving day, and planning out precisely where in your new home all your furniture can go, are also good uses of your time. Another good idea is to gather packing supplies a long time in advance. There is little that is worse than having to desperately hunt for boxes, packing tape and bubble wrap at the last moment. One of the most important things to remember is that supplies such as these should ideally be gathered a good four to six weeks before the move. All boxes should be clearly labeled as to their contents. You might even want to color code the boxes to show where in your new home the boxes should go.
