Moving in after marriage
It may come as something of a surprise to newlywed young couples but after the wedding and honeymoon is over, the excitement does not stop there. After the honeymoon is when couples really have to get down to the nitty gritty of the details of moving two households together.
It can be a difficult task to try to find the ideal location to move to that has affordable taxes, good neighbors and great schools, but once you have bought the house that you intend to live in together and perhaps raise a family after a couple of years then it is time to start planning the big move.
Lots of newlyweds find themselves having to face the tiresome chore of merging kitchen equipment, closet space and furniture from two separate households. To begin the relocation process in the right way, you can think about getting rid of any duplicate items and donating them or having a garage sale prior to the packing process beginning. This is a great opportunity to upgrade furnishings in the household, particularly if you have been given something brand new as a wedding gift.
If you are still in the throes of unpacking wedding presents and space is of no real concern then such gifts could be kept in the boxes that they originally came in, as such packaging will help to keep the items protected. If space is tight, however, throw the packaging away and carefully pack the items in your moving boxes with plenty of padding for protection.
