Half Time Sports Bar & Grill on the move

Sports Bar & Grill on the moveIn the blink of an eye, Leland found itself looking at a shuttered restaurant on the busy stretch of US 17 located between Brunswick Forest and Waterford.  Tony’s NY Pizza & Trattoria, which was situated in the Cross Creek Commons Plaza on 1107 New Pointe Boulevard, shut down at the beginning of April.  Less than a month later, the building is set to be occupied instead by Half Time Sports Bar & Grill, with the entire operation making a move from its existing location at 50 River Road in Belville.

The general manager, Buffy Lennon, went to check out the general renovations last Wednesday, which include a glossy wooden bar able to seat up to 24 people.  Currently known under the name Half Time Sports Cafe, the name change and relocation have been spurred by access being gained to the complete kitchen, which will enable the owner, Charlie Almond, to serve his customers a proper menu rather than the current limited options.

Lennon says that the offerings will prove familiar to regulars of the sports bar; however, he points out that the kitchen is equipped with a couple of commercial pizza ovens, which will be producing exemplary versions of a number of these staple offerings.

The rest of the menu is expected to be rounded out by burgers, pizzas and salads.  There will also be a choice of 16 beers on tap, which range from domestic standards to microbrews.
