Planning Your Office Move
The process of making a move can often be underestimated, particularly when it is an office that is being relocated. The good news is that there are a number of simple tips and effective techniques that have been proven to assist people with making a smooth office move.
Early on you need to appoint an appropriate member of your staff to be the move coordinator. You also need to take into account the situation with regard to your computer and office equipment as it currently stands. Some items may need to be upgraded or replaced, and it would be a good idea to do this after the move and thus reduce the cost of the relocation by cutting down on the number of items that need to be moved.
Make a list of all the company letterheads and other items of stationery that will need to be amended to reflect the change of address following relocation, as well as your website and new signage for your new building. You might also want to think about the access and security requirements that will be necessary when you have moved into your new location.
You will need to send notices to suppliers and clients informing them of your impending move and giving them details such as the new phone numbers, PO Box numbers and the actual address. Staff members should be kept informed about any developments and progress throughout the relocation process, and make sure that moving day has been confirmed with your professional moving company.Back to all blogs
