Abe’s Market to move to Chicago
Natural goods online marketplace Abe’s Market is moving. The business will move its headquarters to the city of Chicago during October as a part of its plans for expansion, it was revealed on Friday. The company, the headquarters of which are currently situated in Minneapolis, opened its brand new facility on Friday in River North, saying that the relocation was being made in order to gain a greater degree of access to talent in the workforce. It will occupy 3,400 square feet of space at 430 W Erie Street.
“Abe’s Market looks forward to joining Chicago’s global business hub,” says the co-founder and chief executive officer of Abe’s Market, Richard Demb. “Chicago will provide us with the talent and support we need to be successful.” The company is an ecommerce firm which specializes in natural and organic products, and has been referred to on previous occasions as an “online farmer’s market”.
“I welcome Abe’s Market to Chicago and commend the company on its choice of Chicago for its corporate headquarters,” says Mayor Rahm Emanuel, adding that the city possesses the workforce talent that will enable it to further its business and an environment that will welcome an expanding technology company such as Abe’s Market, given that it results in the creation of more job opportunities.
Abe’s Market is just one of a number of companies which have moved their headquarters to Chicago, including such names as McGladrey, the Federal Savings Bank, and Motorola Mobility.
