History of my Bekins Moving Company - Since 1891

Bekins was the founded way back in 1891.
When covered moving vans were introduced, they carried the Bekins logo.
Bekins led the moving and storage business away from horse-drawn wagons with the first motorized truck in 1903. We’re betting the horses were happy about that.

In 1906 the first concrete and steel warehouse was built by Bekins.
The first transcontinental motor van move was completed by Bekins in 1928, and without a freeway or a satellite radio.
Bekins lead an industry consortium to develop the CPM (Certified Professional Mover) program, a CD-Rom based training module used by the AMSA since 1995.
Bekins is the first van line to earn CPM status, in 1996.
Bekins is the first van line to install a nationwide warehouse and storage management system for better order management and tracking in 1997.
Also in 1997 Bekins opened a $4M driver training facility in Bolingbrook, IL.
Bekins won the Industry Innovator Award for utilizing technology to make tracking shipments faster in 2000.
Bekins became an inaugural member of the AMSA’s Promover program in 2009.
